Team Owner/ Manager

Since finding the sport of cycling 16 years ago, BrittLee has always most appreciated adventures on dirt roads with good company. As owner of the Velocio // Exploro team she has kept that theme going; surrounding herself with strong, passionate, intelligent and inspiring women to take on gravel races in beautiful places.
While some of her proudest moments on the bike have been landing on UCI cyclocross podiums, she is even more proud of developing the team to help other women pursue their athletic dreams. In 2024 she looks forward to returning to some of her favorite races in a support role for the team and a few as an athlete in her first races postpartum. Born and still living in New York City, BrittLee is a recent breast cancer survivor and hopes to inspire other women to get out on bikes.

Katie has loved exploring outdoors for as long as she can remember, starting with long walks in the snow with her dad and plunging in the ocean waves during humid Delaware summers.  She recently moved from Austin to northern Colorado with her partner.  Katie loves the process of training even more than racing and is always striving to improve in one way or another.   When she isn’t goofing off in the mountains, Katie runs a cancer screening program for a university.  Her favorite thing other than riding her bike is baking, and her dream is to run a teeny bungalow bike cafe where everyone feels welcome.

Sammi’s love for cycling was born out of working courier shifts on her fixed gear in Austin TX. From Redhook crits to Cyclocross World cups, in the past 10 years she’s raced a little bit of everything all over the world. Her love for dirt has persisted from cyclocross to mtb to gravel. In her spare time you’ll find her in the garden  and while she’s working you’ll catch her designing bike parks and trail systems for Rock Solid Trails.

Hailing from the greater Burlington, Vermont area, Meghan’s passion for cycling started as a spectator watching her brothers race competitively. It wasn’t until 2012 when she decided to give it a try and jumped into a small, local mountain bike race. Sliding around on the mud and roots, Meghan doesn’t remember the race result, but the camaraderie and hype for more women in the sport were fond memories from that day. Meghan was hooked and has been racing cyclocross, mountain, and gravel since then. She is excited to be continuing with the team for a third year! When not racing, Meghan is a graduate student studying microbiology & molecular genetics with a research focus in parasitology. Meghan is also a mentor for Little Bellas, a co-leader for local F/T/W rides, and a loving cat mom to Pennie (a.k.a, Penicillin).

Taneika’s passion for cycling developed later in life. In 2015, after having her second child, she began spinning and took up road cycling. Just last year she was introduced to gravel and fell in love with riding the less beaten path. She finds strength in challenging endurance events, that provide emotional, mental and physical therapy.
Born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Taneika moved to New York as a pre-teen and now resides in Northern Virginia with her children and miniature poodle, Bolt. She is excited about checking out UnBound, Mid South, and some bike packing adventures in 2022. When Taneika is not traversing gravel routes, she is a sailor working on health care policy for the Navy and advocating for older adults. She loves ginger beer and tea.

Sarah is still clinging to her Vermonter status even though she now lives a few miles across the border in New Hampshire. She got her start in the cycling scene during the pandemic, and with the abundance of dirt roads in New England, it is no surprise that she fell in love with gravel. While Sarah is new to the cycling world, she is no stranger to endurance sports thanks to her collegiate running background. Sarah enjoys steep climbs, long days in the saddle with friends, and tasty baked goods along the way. When not pushing the pedals, Sarah works as a dietitian at Whole Health Nutrition and, in the winter, enjoys trading in the bike for skis and playing in the snow. Her passion for nutrition stems from her own struggles with under-fueling during her running career. Now Sarah enjoys helping other athletes optimize their performance through proper fueling and improving their relationship with food. In addition to chasing podiums, her goal is to combine her love of cycling with her expertise in nutrition to help fellow cyclists better fuel on and off the bike.

Based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Gabby first started riding bikes at 15; attending local group rides, racing triathlons, then pivoting to racing more competitively in 2020. While she enjoyed racing on the road, Gabby found her groove racing off-road on gravel. Showing up to anything and everything, from local gravel races, to landing podiums at Unbound 200 (W 19-29), USAC Gravel Nationals (W 19-34), qualifying for the UCI Gravel World Championships (W 19-34) at the Highlands Gravel Classic , and representing the U.S. in Italy at Worlds in 22’ and 23’ in her age group. When the backroads and trails aren’t calling her name, you can find Gabby reading, painting, or spending time with friends.
